loosing too much, is it possiable?
Hi Everyone,
I never thought I would be asking this, esp. about myself but here I am, 11 months out, down 115lbs
and I continue to steadly loose. Not that I'm complaing, okay maybe a little
but here's why. I look like a stick
. ex. i can now feel and see my hip bones, ribs ect. I recently had knee replacement surgery and when I came home from the hospital I was laying in bed on my side and it hurt by the hip bone, I thought it was something the result of my surgery since it was the same side, till i mentioned it to my fiance' and he's like "no babe that your bone, on both sides"!
Now I'm worried, in the last 11 mo. I have never hit a platue just a steady loss of 5lbs a month or so. I thought for sure durring the replacement I would level off since i wasnt eating right (or so I thought) and activitiy is limited, well, nope, seems im loosing inches or something cause i continue to shrink and dropped anthor 5lbs in 3wks. Should I be worried or call my dr? I see him next month.
Thanks
Giovanna

I am glad you are doing so well with your weight loss and your knee surgery. My doctor told me women lose longer than men. Men lose it faster but women steadily plod along and continue to lose. I would call my nutritionist to find out how to maintain. I have found my hip bones also and my knees are bony. That hurts! Please let me know how you continue to do and what you find out.
Giovanna,
What's happening to you sounds pretty normal to me. You're losing at a slow, steady, healthy pace. Of course, talk to your doc next month when you see him or her. Maybe what you need to do is talk to a nutritionist if you want to maintain now. You probably need to adjust your diet in a healthy way.

Gio,
You and I had our surgery about the same time, and started at around the same weight, but that's where the similarities end. You're younger and a different height, so you're losing at a different rate. I think you're going to level out fairly soon, as you've lost about 84% of your excess weight, so you're ahead of the curve, but don't stress. We all lose at different rates, and winter slows our metabolism. But it doesn't hurt to call the doctor, even if you're going to see him in a few weeks. Good luck!
