Moving to Central Illinois

Hello all, My name is Paula and I had laporscopic RNY this year, June 6th and have lost over 75# to date. We will be moving back to my home state soon..lol...like next week and I am in need of finding a Dr in that area. The town we will be living in will be Carlinville, so would like a dr close by there if anyone knows of any. Will be waiting to hear from some of you soon. Thanks in advance. Paula! Welcome to Central Illinois. Are you looking for a Primary Care doctor? Or a baratric surgeon?? I saw you already had your surgery, so I am assuming you just want follow-up care - right?? Carlinville is about 30 minutes from Litchfield, and about 45 minutes from Springfield - there are tons of docs in either of those areas also. A good place to start would be your insurance provider. They should be able to give you a list of Docs that will be on your plan. Perhaps your current surgeon would also be able to recommend a WLS friendly PCP in the area? If you can give me an idea of what exactly you are looking for, I can try to help out a bit more! Welcome

Patty thank you so much for getting right back to my ???'s of a Dr there in central Illinois. I am familiar with the area since I was born and raised in the White Hall area..lol.. only been here in Maine for 3 yrs. I did have my gastric by pass here in Maine in June and doing good, still having some eating issues and that is another reason I am wanting a bariatrics dr there, plus think it would be a good idea to stay on top of things after such a big surgery. I have been doing great with the weight loss even though it is hard for me to exercise with 4 major back surgeries and a recent total knee replacement being done. but I am getting better and am looking forward to being back on flatter ground so that I can get out and walk! I did have a PCP back in Roodhouse and think I might go back to using him for the time being, but if you have any suggestions for a WLS dr and hey maybe a great PCP who by the way takes medicare and AARP supplement insurance I would be ever so greatful. We will have to meet once we are back in Illinois and settled in. I pray and wish for your continued progress with your WLS this year. It is awesome to see such a difference while losing weight! Paula, In Springfield a good bariatric dr is Dr. Hammer. He was my surgeon and has very good follow up care with support groups and all of that. Diana

Hijack! Isn't Jeannie the BEST! I have bugged her SO much over the last couple weeks with the insurance stuff and she has always been so helpful and friendly!!!! If we could just get that approval in from insurance I could get on the schedule in the next couple weeks!! Hope to see you around at a support group meeting one of these days! Patty

Paula. hi my name is jill i am new to the site and just started trying to find a good dr. to do surgery if bcbs will cover it. havent gotten that for yet. anyway.. i am a nurse and work in the carlinville area and a great carlinville Dr. that i would recommend is lydia villafuerte. 205 oakland ave 2178546262 out of all the doc's i have to deal with on a daily basis she is the best. she really cares about her patients. she is personable and very pleasant im not sure what she takes insurance wise and also not sure that she is taking new patients. if not let me know and i will try to advise you on someone else. but she truely is the best in the form of a family physician. welcome back to central illinois. also if you get the info on that dr. hammer please forward to me. i am currently making appt's with several doc's to find the best one for me. thanks in advance. hope to talk more. jill my email is [email protected] feel free to email anytime.
