CONGRATS SOX!!
I know...I'm not from Chicago OR Houston, but I AM a die hard baseball fan.
I'm from Georgia, and you guys have 2 Atlanta Braves ties...
Ozzie Guillen was a Braves player for several years, and he always had an amazing attitude on the field and to the fans. Bobby Cox OFTEN said he would make an amazing manager!!
Jermaine Dye came up as a Brave....SOOOOOOOOO Proud of your World Series MVP!
Congrats to Chicago!!!
SOUTHSIDE LOVE! : )
GO SOX!!!!!!!!
I hate how all of the news people and articles, etc. keep making a point to say something about the Cubs, outlining they basically suck and that the Sox were always the No. 2 team in the Second City.
That last part gets me!
To any southsider-the Sox WERE THE TEAM-THE ONLY TEAM!!
About 12 years ago if you liked the Cubs-you were made fun of!
Up until the trendy white people moved to the Northside the Cubs weren't cool at all.
GO SOX!
HEY there,
Not all SOX fans are from the southside! I was born on the NW side of Chicago and have been a SOX fan my entire life. So are my brothers and parents (before they both passed). I cried tears of joy plenty of times in the postseason. Even at the parade today.
I don't mind the rivilary between the two teams, it makes for fun conversation, as long as no one takes it too far. I even cheered the Cubs on during the postseason 2003 (once mt beloved SOX were out of the running). I mean why not, at least it's a Chicago team?
My dream is to have both teams in the World Series together! How cool would that be? Of course the SOX would win, but it still would be cool!

Well.. as a northsider from birth (for crying out loud, I was born in NJ and raised in AZ.. how did I end up a CHICAGO fan?), I can say that in all the news and newspaper reports I've heard, I don't think they've been that harsh.. and have been HEAPING praise (deservedly so) on the White Sox..
Above all, though, I'm a baseball fan and while I don't see myself ever being a Sox fan, I will gladly admit to not only watching but also enjoying this WS.. This Sox team plays good ball and that's what matters.
Great teamwork.. great season.. many congratulations are in order.
Try not to get too hung up on the media -- the media loves "curses" and it gives them something to talk about. Enjoy this well-deserved championship.. and don't let the media get to you.

WOW, being a Cubs fan from birth that's pretty harsh stuff you're talkin there. Ysah, the Sox won, good for them thats cool! Being a Cubs fan is hardly "trendy" and I, and alot of other people are HARDLY jumping on the bandwagon. After all, living on the South Side you have to have SOMETHING to be proud of, right?

As a lifelong Sox fan, it was a dream come true to see them finally able to celebrate! I am admittedly a Cub hater, although the Cubs have been the furthest thing from my mind the past several days. The Sox have put an exclamation mark on their superiority over the Cub organization, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to get to the parade early this past Friday and celebrate with the rest of Chicago. CONGRATS SOX!!!
