I know...I'm not from Chicago OR Houston, but I AM a die hard baseball fan. I'm from Georgia, and you guys have 2 Atlanta Braves ties... Ozzie Guillen was a Braves player for several years, and he always had an amazing attitude on the field and to the fans. Bobby Cox OFTEN said he would make an amazing manager!! Jermaine Dye came up as a Brave....SOOOOOOOOO Proud of your World Series MVP! Congrats to Chicago!!!

SOUTHSIDE LOVE! : ) GO SOX!!!!!!!! I hate how all of the news people and articles, etc. keep making a point to say something about the Cubs, outlining they basically suck and that the Sox were always the No. 2 team in the Second City. That last part gets me! To any southsider-the Sox WERE THE TEAM-THE ONLY TEAM!! About 12 years ago if you liked the Cubs-you were made fun of! Up until the trendy white people moved to the Northside the Cubs weren't cool at all. GO SOX!

HEY there, Not all SOX fans are from the southside! I was born on the NW side of Chicago and have been a SOX fan my entire life. So are my brothers and parents (before they both passed). I cried tears of joy plenty of times in the postseason. Even at the parade today. I don't mind the rivilary between the two teams, it makes for fun conversation, as long as no one takes it too far. I even cheered the Cubs on during the postseason 2003 (once mt beloved SOX were out of the running). I mean why not, at least it's a Chicago team? My dream is to have both teams in the World Series together! How cool would that be? Of course the SOX would win, but it still would be cool! Cat

Well.. as a northsider from birth (for crying out loud, I was born in NJ and raised in AZ.. how did I end up a CHICAGO fan?), I can say that in all the news and newspaper reports I've heard, I don't think they've been that harsh.. and have been HEAPING praise (deservedly so) on the White Sox.. Above all, though, I'm a baseball fan and while I don't see myself ever being a Sox fan, I will gladly admit to not only watching but also enjoying this WS.. This Sox team plays good ball and that's what matters. Great teamwork.. great season.. many congratulations are in order. Try not to get too hung up on the media -- the media loves "curses" and it gives them something to talk about. Enjoy this well-deserved championship.. and don't let the media get to you. WOW, being a Cubs fan from birth that's pretty harsh stuff you're talkin there. Ysah, the Sox won, good for them thats cool! Being a Cubs fan is hardly "trendy" and I, and alot of other people are HARDLY jumping on the bandwagon. After all, living on the South Side you have to have SOMETHING to be proud of, right?

Whooaaa you opened a can of worms there. In case you haven't noticed there is a big crosstown rivalry between the Cubs and the Sox. Of course, we've taken a great beating from Cub fans about not being able to fill our stands and being Second team to chicago behind them. I hope this proves that we are just as good...okay okay...BETTER than the Cubs. I am a huge fan of the White Sox. I remember in 2nd grade reading books so that I can get free tickets to the white sox. It was called the BOOK IT program and we also received a personal pan pizza from pizza hut. So I'm def. a die hard fan. It brought emotion to finally bring home...what I feel (as well as other GOOD GUYS) was rightfully ours back in the early 90s when we were doin OH SO VERY well.....and that idiot of Jerry Reinsfeld (misspell) had that strike and we lost our oppurtunity. I truly feel the big hurt and others could've brought back that Championship to us that year. Anywho, all i can say is we are NO LONGER a SECOND team....we are NUMBER ONE... and I hope to finally put that in place to all the fans in chicago. As far as the comment a few above this one... i don't think its "Trendy" to be a fan ... i think its in each of our hearts and love for the game. I will however, say that I call people Bandwagon riders when they dont know the starting lineup or even who the manager is. Trust me....there are many out there Anywho...thank you for posting about the sox... Ozzie is great....and was also a Sox player.. I wish Bo Jackson, Albert Belle and Magglio would've still been with the team though.... Those were some of my favorite players back in the day. The big hurt is still there... And I hope to bring many more memories Next year. Gracie A TRUE WHITE SOX FAN *Steps off Soapbox* P.S. for you white sox fans... I saw this really cute saying at the world series.... A woman had her sign that read: Tickets to the World Series: $185.00 The Cubs at home watching the World Series: PRICELESS! I thought that was hilarious! and TRUE!!!!! Can't wait till Next JUNE!

As a lifelong Sox fan, it was a dream come true to see them finally able to celebrate! I am admittedly a Cub hater, although the Cubs have been the furthest thing from my mind the past several days. The Sox have put an exclamation mark on their superiority over the Cub organization, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to get to the parade early this past Friday and celebrate with the rest of Chicago. CONGRATS SOX!!! Jeff
