I am using dr oliphant in champaign. He has been really good and he is really strict about post surgery appointments. He also seems that he only wants people who take this surgery seriously. Trisha

I had surgery with Dr. Oliphant in Champaign 6 months ago. He's a great surgeon, very strict with his post op rules, but its soooo worth it. I went for my 6 month post op visit today and am down 103.5 lbs!! ~Lora

A week from today Dr. Frantzides will operate on me. I researched for about a year and picked him based on his record. Whoever you pick, ask a lot of questions. Be tough - find out about morbidity/mortality statistics and the number of surgeries of your kind the surgeon has performed. Statistics show that the experience of the surgeon is the single biggest predictor of success. What sold me was that Dr. F has done over 1,000 laparoscopic RNY gastric bypasses and has excellent statistics. When I met with him I asked him point blank about complications and deaths and he stared me straight in the eye and gave me answers. In fact he wouldn't leave the consult until he made sure that I'd asked and he'd answered every question I had. Make sure your surgeon does you the same courtesy. Wishing you all the best!
