Caterpillar, UHC insurance question here...

Hello there. My hubby works for Cat and we have the UHC insurance. Has anyone that worked for Cat gotten an approval for abdominalplasty/hernia repair or breast reduction surgery? My doctor has submitted the forms needed for a pre-authorization for all 3. The insurance pro at Dr. Geldner's office said that UHC has never authorized the tummy tuck or breast reduction for their patients. I am praying a lot these days and was wondering if anyone else employed at Cat had good news to share. Thanks to all. Dyanna

I have UHC Choice, and they approved my breast reduction, and hernia repair, but denied my tummy tuck. I appealed, and am still waiting for an answer, it's been about 4 weeks, maybe longer. The doctor's office said that If I don't hear anything by next week to let them know and they will try and see what's going on. You just have to submit with as much evidence to prove that it is medically necessary and not cosmetic, and hope for the best. Good luck! Tricia
