excess skin removal for free?

It's still early for me to be asking and I may not even need it, but someone I was speaking to on Saturday said that they had heard of some surgeons in the Chicago area that will perform skin removal for gastric bypass patients for free, if the patient donates the skin to burn victims. Has anyone heard of this?

From what I've heard, that's no longer the case, although it may have been several years ago. According to the support group I belong to, bariatric skin doesn't have enough elasticity. Terry
