The Metra(and the big Chicago weekend)?????????
If you park in New Lenox and take the Rock Island Metra downtown it lets you out at Lasalle & Van Buren. You'll get off the train and exit to the right. Go down the stairs there and if you walk forward the El is there (Elevated Subway) The brown line is there and it'll take you a hop away from the hotel. From what I saw tho, it might be easier just to walk. It doesn't look to be that far.
Check out TransitChicago.com and it'll tell you how to get where you need. Go to the right where it says Trip Planner and go from there.
If there weren't so many cars I'd say you could park here and take the blue line in. Even so...I could probably find out about overnight parking. I think it's just a matter of calling in plate numbers to the village so you don't get a ticket.
I am in Mokena, about 5 minutes off of I-80 (which I assume you will be traveling?)
I can drive you to the train on Friday and then pick you guys back up from the train station on Sunday. The only thing will be depending on what time you are getting in on Friday. I have a personal trainer appointment that I need to leave my house by 6:30 for. What time do you think you will be in town? I assume before that but you never know.
I will give you my cell number for Sunday. Sunday is supposed to be my day to do nothing but we all know how that goes. But if I need to drive you guys I have a good excuse to be around the house most of the day
Just email me if you decide that is the way you want to go and we can work out the details.

80 and 55 connect in Joliet. I am about 20 minutes closer to the city (by train) than the Joliet station.
Just let me know if you want to park at my house and we can work out the details.
The trains leave my train station on the 38 and arrive into the city the following hour on the 45 (or so). So if you were at my house in time for the 1:38 you would arrive at the downtown Chicago station at 2:45. The train schedule on Sunday is only every other hour so make sure you check out the schedule before you make a decision.
Good luck and I will be here if you need me. I am off work on Friday so let me know before then what your plans are
Nancy
