My Dr. says you can't have anything to drink when you eat and not for 90 min. after that? Is their a reason why i am having a real hard time with that. Thank Tami

If you drink a half hour before or during you eat it will wash out the food and you will not get filled. So you have to get used to not drinking which real hard for ninty minutes.

In addition to what Jim said, it is a good way to stretch out one's stoma because of the increased pressure that food followed by liquid can place on it. ~Cathy

90 minutes seems really long to not drink after a meal. I would double check with him on that time. The most I have ever read is 1 hr. That amount of time I think will make it awefully hard to get all your water in in a day. If you drink and eat at the same time you will also push your food through your pouch too fast, thereby making you hungrier faster. You may not be hungry at your point PO now, but the hunger does come back the further out your are. I had it come back big time at about 2 yrs out. Good luck.
