WELL I CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT !

thanks so much for you understanding. Lets just say there is another reason I am backing out and that is my dr. She is not a bariatric surgon and she specilizes in breast cancer. I feel I have to go with them because I am on public aid. Now with my husbands new job he will have insurance in jan.. So If I don't see any results by Jan then I will start the process over....See I never wanted open Rny I wanted lap band! then after 6 months of hoops they tell me they are no longer going to do lap band and they will only do open Rny. I just feel like that was right. If I do this one day I want a fantastic doctor who belongs to the bariatric association. with lots of experience. I want to be around for my kids I can't leave them . I thank you for understanding. I will stay around and post on my profile and questions. I am taking protein everyday. and I went and got my membership at the ymca today. I am on my way.

Hi Dee You don't think we were all scared ****less before we went and had our sugery's.I was big time but I was more scared what would happen if I didn't have it.It was the best decision i have ever made.I would have brather of died than stay the weight I was.It's called Quality Of Life.Oh and THANKYOU GOD for my life back.I had my sugery under 9 months ago I was a size 62 in waist and 7x shirts and weighed 459 pounds now under 9 months later almost in 40 waist and my 2x shirts are baggy and my weight is down to 269 Pounds For a total down of 190 pounds.I'm so much more active.My boys don't just see dad on the couch.Time to suck it up and go for the quality of life again.If not let someone out here go in your place it a shame to let the sugery go When there is so many people fighting to have this sugery with no luck....I would say if you want your girls to rember the obease lazy you then cancel I would brather die trying then die because i was to obease !!Look at the other way not 1 in every 200 die 199 out of 200 live!!!! It's worth having the sugery Just to have NORMAL SEX again!!! So i say DO IT!!!!!!!!! I also probley have at least 30 pounds of skin that need to be cut off I'm going to wait for 25 to 30 more pounds to lose before i have that done.Hope this helps Taco 459/269/220 sugery date 12/27/2004

ok first let me start by saying congrats to you. you look great. now 1) my sex life is awesome already and yes it will only get better when I lose the weight.. 2) did you get to pick your surgon by talent or by them being the only one who would take you? my surgon is not even in the bariatric association! and she specilizes in brest cancer...would you go to her? 3) I am not going to the ymca with my family. So they see me trying to lose weight and get healthy and were doing it as a family! 4) If doing it my way does not work like I have said I am going to search for a great dr when my husband get his new insurance. 5) as for someone taking my place this was just my appointment to meet with the surgon not to have surgery, she could of told me I wasn't a canidate, 6) there are alot of people waiting and I have benn supportive of all of them but by me making a desicion that effects my life that has nothing to do with them. 7) I am only 28 so I have time to do more research. 8) how would you feel if you went to a dr because you wanted lap band and they were going to do it then after 6 months they decide not to do lap and tell you that you have to do open Rny. I didn't like I felt like I payed over 400. dollars out of pocket for something that they changed there mind. I didn't get my money back! so anyway thanks for your opinion but I made up my mind And I am 100% happy with my decision. It was not my time. I can do this on my own and if not I know I tried one last time before going under.

The surgeon I went to also does oncologic surgery and surgical treatment of breast disease. He was great, everything's worked out well! According to his bio, he isn't a member of any bariatrics association.

I am really glad you had such great results with your dr. It sounds like you had alot of faith in him. I want that IF I end up having surgery down the road. I always had a surgon in mind but I couldn't afford 6000 down to have it. I want to beable to pick my surgon by experience and knowledge not just the first person who would accept public aid. If I don't do it on my own I will be looking back into it with my husbands insurance we will get in Jan. I am not ready right now. I may never be but that is up to me to decide. good luck with your journey and best wishes to you.

Dee if you decide to go ahead later with the surgery.. My surgeon does take public aid.. he's done many many lap RNY's and there's atleast 5 of us on this board who used him. But again.. I think your doing the right thing for you.. and like Kathy Bryant said DO NOT LET ANYONE BULLY you.. its YOUR BODY!! YOUR LIFE!! YOUR KIDS!!! and personally I wouldnt go to a surgeon who is NOT a bariatric surgeon.. it would be like going to a proctologist for a bust lift.. hang in there Kiddo your doing the right thing for you and thats all that matters... thanks so much I really want to go to dr frantizides or however you spell it. He is so awesome If I can't do it on my own. I really think though I found that point when you look at your kids through tear filled eyes and think how unfair it would be for me to die because of my weight. To let them be without a mother. A mother who has been with her kids everyday of there life I was only away from my son one time for 2 days and that was when i was having my daughter. I can count on my hands howmany times they even had a babysitter (mom). I just finally found that place that you stand up and do what needs to be done. I am ready!

Sorry I was just trying to pump you up.Good luck!!!!I cut out bread pasta potato's rice and white sauces and i'm droping fast as long as workout.I haven't had any of that stuff in 9 months.Also no sugar!!Do it on your own You can do it just get the eye of the tigar It will start falling off!!!If I would of ate that stuff Then i wouldn't of had to have the sugery.Just get serious and do it for your kids and yourself.I missed at least 10 years of my life.I got it back now.Life is good!!!!
