I have had problems also, but no regrets. All those problems subside in time. Sometimes when I am weak and shaky and have been sick I do have a "what have I done to myself" moment. I too am far from my surgeon, about 2 hours. Hang in there hon, this too shall pass.

Hi lisa. Sorry to hear that you are having problems. Yes, when I first had surgery I went through major depression. It didn't help that this was my first surgery ever, didn't have the food to comfort me and it was during the xmas holiday. I had one trip to the ER to what seem to be a PE (Pulmonary Embolism) but thank god it wasn't. It was actually gas . I remember going in because I would have trouble breathing. Anywho, if you look at my profile, I let my depression do the talking. I talked about how I regretted the surgery....Fast Foward to 9 months post op and I'm so happy that I had this done. I'm 5 pounds from my doctor's goal. Eventually this does pass. The bad part is that your doc is so far away. But as long as you have an ER near you there isn't much to worry about. Most ERs (or at least i'm hoping) are pretty intelligent about all these different type of surgeries. Good Luck to you and if you need to talk or vent...feel free to email me! Gracie

Lisa, Yep, I have had regrets. Just depends on the day. I had my open RNY also on July 25th. Loss has been fairly good-54 pounds. I have had a fever since July 26th. My incision came open in 3 places after the staples were removed and got badly infected. After 7 weeks, the doctor wants to reopen it and clean it out. I started real food and some days everything gets stuck. Then the foamies come and I barf for hours. I never feel full which scares me the most of all. BUT, in the last week my temperature is coming down and I have only vomitted two days so I'm feeling encouraged. I can walk further without gasping for air. I can pick things up off the floor. My clothes are getting too big. I am starting to have hope that I did the right thing. I fully understand how you feel, but hang in there. Sherry

Hello Lisa. I to feel like you I am 4 months post op. I get sick from what seems to be everything. Severe sweats nausea and vomit foamie saliva Dump City. I also have been to hell and back with this surgery. I have a huge open wound that is healed somewhat. Was originally 18inches By 9inches wide and 6 inches deep. The wound is about 6inches by 4 inches now and at skin surface. Had a second operation 1 week post op A Bowel obstruction my lung had collapsed. I have since lost 100lbs and everyone says how good I look I still feel like hell. MY surgeon told me I would hate him the first 4 months and grow to lve him after I still haven't found any Love LOl I have been breathing better and can do more than before But I would rather be able to eat and not feel sick everytime I eat something. I can't go away and eat Afraid I will get sick I work on eating slowly and chewing well and still I get sick It's to the point I fear eating
