saw my PCP

well I saw my PCP today. He was all for me having gastric bypass surgery. he even did a little explaining about it hiself. I called my INS prior to going & found out they will pay for the open or lap RNY but not the lap band. They said I had to have 6 months Dr supervised diet. My PCP started me on a diet right away. I also have a dietcian consult the 22nd of Sept. It's all good though. I figure I can use this time to do more research, change my eating habbits for when I do have the surgery and if I lose a few pounds in the process it makes me a better surgery canidate. Allthough I am a nurse I can learn a few tricks of the trade from the dietician. My PCP also said to call my ins. co. again and find out exactly what they want soooo we hopefully don't waist our time or maybe get it right the first time. whoo hoo I am on my way Kimberly
