Really down today..........
HI everyone,
I Talked to the Coori Center today and asked when my surgery date would be.I had my scope done and now only have to have my per op testing done. They said Jan.I said wow that is a long time and they said if there was anything sooner they would let me know.
I was told that it would be 3-4 months till surgery and that would make it oct or nov.
I don't understand because they were trying to get my scope done asap.?
I am really down about this.I know it is ONLY 4 months but I am so ready for this. They said they would call me when they get my results from my scope(everything is fine the gas. DR told me).I know they have to see it for themselves but 4 more months?I don't understand?!
I am on a "diet to lose 10-20 lb's.How am I going to maintain this loss for 4 months?I can only do this kind of diet for so long it messes with my body!I mean if I could lose weight and maintain losses why would I need wls????
Sorry for the complaining,I just need to vent alittle.
I will talk to them later this week and let you know if anything else turns out.
Sorry for the long post.
Have a great day everyone.
Tonia
Hi Tonia,
I know how you feel. When I first went to Northwestern and they told me it would be 6 months to a year I cried so hard. But in the long run I was glad it was 8 months.
Take this time and go to all the classes and learn how to get it right in between your ears before you let them re-arrange your plumbing. It will make your journey an easier one and successfull I promise.
Let me know if I can do something to help make the time go by faster
Take care,
Kathy

Kathy, You are really an inspiration to a lot of people. Thank you for sharing your story and also your inspiration. I notice you had distal RNY was that your choice and what is the difference. That is what I am having but I met 2 other people when I went for my pre-op appointment and they are having proximal and it is the same surgeon. Both of them are bigger than I am. I just don"t understand. Unless it is an insurance thing. they both did have a different insurance.
Sincerely, Annette
Tonia, you do not have to apologize we all understand. Would you be willing to be taken at a few days or weeks notice for your surgery? I was going to suggest that you call them and say that you would be willing to do that if there is a cancalletion. Just a suggestion.
Now, believe me the time will go fast for you. See if one of the medical assistants has any suggestions for you to keep maintaining the loss and the diet that you are on so it can be easier for you in the next couple of months. And of course you can still come back here for support when you need it.
