Don't throw in the towel just yet. I was the same way when I started and I chewed Ice just to get the crunch. I am now 7 months out and I feel great and this was the best thing I could have done. In a short while you will be able to crunch again, I promise. I've learned to eat so much healthier and I also am finding the farther out I get the more things I can tolarate to eat, of course in moderation. You will do it, and you will find that it wasn't a mistake. I found that I can tolarate the small 25 cent bags of cheetos so everyonce and a while I treat my self to the forever crunch. Be patient and you will be fine and do it. I felt the same way you do right after my surgery also and now I can't believe how great I feel... Dawn 315/220/140

Chandra, I certainly wish you the best, but I know you will feel so much better about the surgery as time passes. It's just one of those tough things that you have walk through, feel the pain, and then come out on the other side a stronger, healthier person. It's happened to all of us and it will happen to you to. I must confess that, in the pureed stage, I just chewed some things to death also. Tuna and chicken salad, for sure. I cut it into small pieces and then just masticated away. No bad effect. It worked just fine. Donna

Chandra dear, It will get better. One day at a time. Just keep your eyes on the prize, a thinner healthier Chandra . It will be well worth it. We are with you. Hugs, Ronna

Chandra, I went through a horrible depression right after surgery, and I was feeling the same things you are right now. I didn't know if I'd ever get over it, but it does get better. I can't tell you it will happen right away, but what you're feeling is very common and it will pass. Email me whenever you get really down. TErry

Chadra~ I sucks, plain and simple, to have to be where you are -- but --- know that even while you are dealing with all of the physical and emotional parts then come along with being a recent ost-op, you are helping me understand what I will likely go through in December. Maybe go back and read your page -- it is very inspirational for me. Katie
