Introducing myself

Hey everybody, My name is Renee (duh!). I go for my RNY through the cori centers on the 15th of this month. Yikes. I live in the Chicago area. I am 24 and have two beautiful children, 5 years old and 6 months old. My Husband and I separated over a year ago and the outlook on that isn't good. I've been overweight since I had my daughter 5 yrs ago and I can't wait to be on the other side. You guys all seem like such a close group of people and i've been reading your profiles for the past couple months. My family and friends arent too supportive of my decision to have the surgery so i'm hoping to find all the support I need from you guys. Renee P.S - I emailed html help for my profile a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know how long it normally takes for them to respond?

Welcome Renee, this board is great for support. I had my open rny surgery on Feb 14, 2005 and I am down 94lbs and feeling great. I have a 5yr old and 3 yr old and a very supportive husband and family, but I still felt more support from this board than anyone, because we know how you feel and what you are going through and what you will go through. This was the best thing I ever did for myself... keep smiling and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Dawn

Hi Renee glad you joined us here. There is tons of people here who have gone or are going to go through surgery and then there are some who are undecided, but everyone is very nice and supportive. My husband is in agreement with me having surgery, but no one else is so if you ever want to talk feel free to email me. I have my date set with CORI for November 7, 2005. Hello & Welcome to the boards. This is a great goup of people here. Alot of us lurk. (I'm guilty of that.) But I do try an post sometimes. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! You are going to do great! You wont believe how much your life is about to change until you go through it. Its the BEST thing I've ever done for myself. As far as the profile, it just depends... the last time I had mine done, it took a couple of months. If you want any help with it, I'd be glad to help you. I did mine this last time. It may take me a few days, but I will get it done for you. Just let me know! ~ Lora
