Well -- things are moving right along. After my un-needed mini-freakout insurance thing (all is well in insuranceland -- for now anyway), I have been scheduled for the Endoscopy and MRI on October 7th. My PCP is putting together all the needed documentation for the medically supervised diet (all t's and i's crossed and dotted by me before submission for sure) And I am right on course for my orginal 12-13-05 date. Whew! Anyone had an endoscopy? If so, can you tell me what it is like? Much Thanks! Katie

Hi Katie, I have never had an endoscopy, but just wanted to say I am soooo happy for you Things are moving along and just keep telling yourself with each step/produre you take... You are one step closer to the rest of your life. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. Take care, Kathy 330/130/12?

Hi Katie! I was scoped in March, but the report said that the patient was "less than optimal" . I was sedated and I don't remember anything. But according to my doc, I gagged alot, wanted more drugs , and put up a really good fight . They restrained me and brought in more staff, but gave up for fear that they were going to damage something. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy 9/19. Gee....that should be fun. Good Luck! Wonka D

Wonka D~ Okay, I was picturing you battling the nurses I hope the colonoscopy is, in comparison, a breeze (pun intended) Katie

I have to have endoscopies regularly because I have Barrett's syndrome. They are fine. You will be mildly sedated so you don't know or care what is going on. I am glad everything is falling into place for you.

Thanks Meena~ I am willing to juggle poodles while dancing through a pool filled with jello if it will get me closer to the surgery and the rest of my life. What is Barrett's syndrome? (that is, if you don't mind my asking). Katie

I dont mind at all. Barrett's Syndrome is a precancerous condition of the esophagus. I didn't know I had it until I was scoped before my surgery. I never had any symptoms.
