Hi Katie, I posted this on another forum. I'm seeing Dr. Nagle at Northwestern. Yep, I got it...the dreaded phone call...letter... DENIED!!! DAYUM!!! DAYUM!!! DAYUM!!! HOWEVER...... I was denied because I was minus the 6 month required medically supervised diet. But I don't have to start over. I've been seeing Dr. Kushner at Northwestern and I was told by my insurance company that if I keep up with my appts I will be scheduled for surgery in DECEMBER 20!!! That's great!!! I will be on Winter break and I still have two weeks of vacation left. If you are currently waiting for an answer from your insurance company, please, please, please, DO NOT do what I did: 1. Make no major decisions at this time. I bought a new refrigerator, then cancelled the order, then bought a new washing machine and dryer. I actually don't need either, but I just had to have something to do. 2. Don't buy SKINNY clothes. The only reason why I didn't was because I was broke from buying appliances. 3. PRAY!!! PRAY!!! PRAY!!! 4. If you are currently taking HORMONES, don't stop. Talk to my poor husband about this one. I stopped because I wanted one less pill to take after surgery. What was I thinking? 5. PRAY!!! PRAY!!! PRAY!!! 6. Go to BAF for SUPPORT!!!! Dimple Donna was my saint. I talked to her only once, and I must thank her 1,000,000,000 times! My family was sympathetic but they didn't understand what was going on in my head. 7.
