Update on BOB Evans

Well we got Bob moved to his apartment in Chicago to go to college. So far he is doing well. He had another stint in the hospital on August 21st which was pretty scary. He was vomiting blood and come to find out he had a tear in his esophagus, a bleeding ulcer and the opening going into his duodenum had been bleeding and was inflamed. They said that opening was smaller than it should be and might pose a problem later. His nutritionist had said it was okay to drink the sugar free stuff BUT it had citric acid in it and I think that had alot to do with the bleeding ulcer. Besides the fact that the Dr. never put him on any meds for it like some of the other surgeons do. He isn't on any meds to prevent him from getting gall stones either from the rapid weight loss. That will be something we ask the Dr. in December when he comes home for break. We also figured out that the first bite of his meals he was chewing up well and than the next few bites were taken too soon or not chewed up enough causing vomiting. Now that he is more cautious when he is eating he has not vomited near as much. He has a gym in his dorm area and a pool and has been utilizing these this week. He also has to walk everywhere since parking a vehicle in downtown Chicago is outrageous...so that will help weight loss also. I am just a concerned mom and wanted to post this for anyone else having the same kind of problems. (Bob's mom) Ramona

I really would like to go to the conference in Chicago, but moving Bob up there cost a fortune over $100 in gas alone and with gas prices going up again GEESHHH!!! It's the closest one so far I wish I could but money is tight! Especially when you got a kid in College. Only good thing is the food bill is low. It will be tougher for him with everyone else doing pizza runs and etc. but I have confidence in him. Ramona
