Getting it done finally...

Its been a while since ive posted on the Illinois boards but i wanted to let you guys know that on Sept. 26 i will be getting the lap-band done. Woohooo!! Im not as excited as i thought i would be. I guess im still in shock and nervous. Im sure it will hit me the 2 weeks before when i have to start on a liquid diet. Blah! In the end its all going to be so worth it!

YEA Kate!! So are you not going through Hammer anymore?? I just saw him today and really liked him - but I know he does not do the lap band. who are you going through? I considered lap-band but noone around here does it! Congrats - it will all be worth it, you have waited a long time!

I liked Dr. Hammer too but insurance wouldnt cover it and it was way to expensive to pay myself. I ended up going to Dr. Tull in Jacksonville. There was an article about him in the SJR. He is the doctor that has actually had the lap-band done himself. He is really nice!! You should really look into it. Its so much safer! Good luck.

I have not submitted to insurance yet - That should be in the next couple weeks or so. I will keep that in mind if things do not work out with the insurance. I am very comfortable right now with Hammer and the RNY since he does it Lap instead of open. I am just praying things work out with insurance - you know how they can be!!
