Hi Gracie, Yes that does make sense, considering the doc took me off my antidepressants for now. Hopefully this will soon pass and I will no longer need them, at least that's something to hope for...lol. Thanks again, Jeff.

Jeff, Hang in there...the post op blues are normal. You have to try to refocus on taking control of your health instead of not eating. I completely understand! Commercials on TV would sometimes get to me but it was an opportunity to see how these social cues stimulate your appetite rather than actual hunger. I'm 3 months post op and am now having some problems with scar tissue that has developed in the stoma (opening between the new pouch and the small intestine). The result is that I'm back on almost full liquids because I get sick when I try to eat. I've had my second endoscopy today to dilate the opening. There have been a few times that I had difficultly dealing with not being able to eat a bbqs. However, I'm off my diabetes, high blood pressure and some asthma medicines and have lost 60 lbs in the last 11 weeks. Just take it slow and try to learn a little more about yourself and how you react to social situations. In the long run it will be worth it! What surgeon did you have? I went through Suburban Surgical and they have a great staff. I just started going to the 3 months plus support groups. Good luck to you! Sue McD
