Hi Christy. Congrats to you on the surgery date. You will need your hubby on that day. Personally, the next 2 days following my surgery was easier when my hubby wasn't around. I didn't have to keep up a smiling face so he wouldn't worry. Don't get me wrong, we love each other greatly, but he worries if he sees me in pain or uncomfortable. The nurses had me walking so much that I was exhausted and slept a lot. My hubby came in for 2-3 hour visits, and I loved the time spent with him, but I was releived when he left so I could walk & rest again.
Good luck to you. May God watch over you and keep you safe.

I also rested better in the hospital when I was alone. Others came but I was soooo tired it was hard to communicate. My husband also kept pushing the pain meds while I wasn't looking and that made me feel so groggy. I guess I was in a lot of pain but I don't remember this. Everyone's experience is different and we all have different personalities but I think you will do great. I am praying for you.
Christy,
Try not to concentrate on that. You will want to sleep after surgery and the nurses will be waking you up to walk and take your vitals that you'll be glad to be left alone! You don't want to get the feeling that you have to entertain someone. Just concentrate on you and getting the rest you need so you can heal.
Best of luck to you and congratulations!
