The Wish Center ?
Yes, I needed to have a $2,000 check when I went to my second pre-op appointment to pay for any incidentals that the insurance company did not cover. WISH is not in network for too many insurance companies, I think that BCBS is in network for them now but I am not sure how many others are. Let me know if you still want to talk on the phone, now that the week end is here and you are not working.
Rebecca,
Thanks for reminding me that I had to write a check for $1800 to WISH before the surgery for support groups etc. that wouldn't be covered by insurance. (I'm thanking you because it will be tax deductible and I forgot about it.) So, they asked for that, but they didn't ask upfront for the $2,500 co-pay my insurance required. And, actually, I ended up paying less than that for some reason. Let me say that my experience with WISH has been fantastic. Very supportive before and after, a great, caring physician (Rosen), and an all-around program that I believe has contributed greatly to a complications-free recovery. I'd use them no matter how much they wanted upfront.

Hi Rebecca. The WISH Center requires you to pay $1995 for their Support Program fee. I just paid mine today at my pre-op appointment. My surgery is on Sept. 1. This is required and you have to have it paid at the pre-op, not before or after. They will not let you pay before because they could still deny you if they are not happy with your diet/exercise logs or any test results, etc. They do not even bother asking the insurance companies to pay for the Support Program fee, as this part of the program is not considered necessary, and most places do not require this. I did not have to pay anything else, just the $1995. And it is tax deductible. My husband and I were worried about how we were going to pay for this part of it; we're not exactly rich, ya know? But we were able to take out a loan on his 401K. Hopefully, this won't hold you back from being able to have the surgery done. Well, good luck with everything!
