Hotel info

Hi everyone. I will be having surgery on aug.16th at the Barix clinic in Belvidere,Il. This is 5 hours from home in Mo. Would anyone know of any hotels close to the Barix clinic? I dont know if the hospital will allow my wife to stay with me or not. Thanks Larry

I am not from the area, but if you go to mapquest and put in the address of the clinic and click search hotels - here is what you get for the top 10. (there are 108 hotels in Belvidere) I would also talk to the receptionist at the clinic- maybe they have some suggestions, or know of any hotels that offer discounts for patients families. My husband has been able to stay with me through all my hospital stays. I would imagine it would be no problem for your wife to stay.

Thank you ladies.My wife doesnt drive so she would have to have access to a cab if she stays at a hotel.

No cab service in Belvidere, I'm afraid. It really is "in the sticks" compared to other cities.

Hi Larry... I'm having surgery the day before you at Barix in Belvidere. There are quite a few hotels within a mile from the location, and several more within 10 mins driving time. I believe there is either a Comfort Inn, or a Holiday Inn Express right there. When I find out for sure, i'll post on here. I'll be meeting you soon! Take care, Jeff

You don't want to stay at the Belvidere Hotel, that not kind place to stay. people live there in like a Run down place. all the rest is fine. Ruth

Thanks Ruth, i have to go up monday for pre op tests. I think we will see whats close by for her to stay at, thats safe. Jeff, i will keep an eye out for you while we are walking the halls,lol.

Larry, The Cambridge is the closest and most decent in Belvidere, otherwise, the others are in Rockford and at least 10-15 miles away. The Cambridge is only about 2 miles from the clinic. Terry
