Hungry

I am 12 days out and I am not hungry. I can move to the soft foods/pureed foods stage and I have no desire to do that. Is this normal? Everything sounds good but I do not want to eat it. Am I normal? I am down 24 pounds but have been "stuck" there for about 3 days now. I know, do not get on the scale everyday, easier said than done. Thank you Nancy

You are very normal, but you need to eat even if you are not hungry. You will find that you will not be hungry for a long time now, maybe up until a year PO, then you will get the hunger sensation back, take advantage of it and learn the difference between head hunger and true hunger. You are not on a plateau unless you stop loosing inches or #s for 30 days and you are far from that. Your body is just taking a break and readjusting to the fewer calories that you are taking in. Eat when you are supposed to and when you are supposed to. Eat slowly and stop when you are full. At your point I was to start with 1-2 tbls of food and to eat just a tiny portion of food the size of my little finger nail and I was to stretch out eating that food over a 1/2 hr time frame. Usually I could not even get the whole 2 tbls in. The reason I say to eat even if you are not hungry is that you need the nutrients and protein in the food. Try storing the scale with a friend or in a place that you cannot easily get to it. If it is out of your house or apt then you cannot weigh yourself, then just let your clothing be an indication of your loosing weight and inches. ps- there will be many points where you seem to "stop" loosing, now, 1-2 months out, sometimes at 3 and then at 6 months; other people have experienced other times also. It is just your body adjusting to not having as many calories. Now is a good time to measure all of your areas of the body, not just the big three. I found it fun to keep the inches numbers in a little notebook to see how many I lost.
