Back from Surgery!
Well, its 4:53am and as you can probably imagine I am awake due to post surgery discomfort, yuk... However, my surgery was pretty uneventful!! I did not end up letting them give me anything for pain before I woke up due to me getting so sick, but I finally got pain meds about 3-4 hours after sugery, I just kept going back to sleep so I wouldn't feel anything. I did very well until that evening then I got sick for about 30 mins, they gave me something for nausea and went right back to sleep. I ended up not having anything for pain until the next morning about 8 hrs later and all I would let them give me was Tylenol, which has worked very well. I am sore but its workable. Doctor Ray said then band went on great, no problems and I did wonderfully!! So now I am on my way to recovery. Thanks to everyone who wrote to me and wished me the best, you are all very sweet and supportive and I can't thank you enough for the prayers!!! They worked!! I will say one thing though, the worst part of the whole sugery is the gas that settles in your chest and abdomen afterwards.. OMG! Now that is uncomfortable. I just try to keep moving around alot. I will write again soon to let you know how my recovery is going, I hope you all have as easy of a time as I have had. Good luck to everyone!

Michelle, I am so glad everything went well!!! Congrats on being on the losing side now and hope your recovery goes well. Glad to hear your not in much pain. I am just awaiting ins approval and doc Ray will be doing my surgery as soon as that goes through... Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing...I hear the hospital staff is just as great as doc rays staff, is that true??? Take care and talk soon, Tammy
Michelle,
I am glad that you are doing so well. It is nice to hear from someone who had Dr Ray as their dr. I can't believe that you did not get any pain meds - good for you!! I am not worried about the surgery itself as I have a lot of confidence in Dr Ray - it is just that initial pain after surgery. I hope I am as lucky as you, although I have seen many people post that the gas pains after surgery are the worst part. I am also in the pre approval stage and look forward to Dr Ray doing my surgery. I think it is worth driving the 3 hours to get to him. Please keep us updated on your progress.
