Hi Brenda - I don't think I've posted to the Illinois board before (I am mainly on the BAF board)...but Dr. Keith Millikan at Rush Medical Center did my surgery almost 2 years ago and he was fantastic. I believe the most popular surgeons here in the Chicago area would be Dr. Frantzides (sp?) or Dr. Cahill (at Little Company)... Donna Open RNY 8/2003 349/215/180-ish??

I can see who is popular in this area, I hope to have contact with nearly everyone mentioned above, as well as those of you who posted. Let me explain, I am the area representative for Obesity Help. I am presently in charge of the conference in Cincinnati which will be held on Aug 20th. After that I have been asked to help with the Chicago conference so I needed a few contacts and wanted to get a feel for the surgeons in your area, if things turn out and I can work this conference I will be there and then attend it as well. Don't forget Doctors Alverdy and Prachand at the University of Chicago. They not only perform RNY, but also offer Duodenal Switch surgery. They are the only doctors in the Chicago area performing this type of surgery that I know of currently. Great doctors and a great surgery, especially for those with BMI's of 50 or over.
