Chicago Docs
I went through The WISH Center with Dr Jeffery Rosen. http://www.wishcenter.org/new/surgeons_il.asp
He has a great sense of humor and helps you feel more comfortable during your appointments especially your very first at their office. He is very knowledgeable in his field. When it comes to the individual patient's medical background he will do research on the situation. Take for instance me, I have Microscopic Colitis - he spoke with a gastro doctor first before I had my RNY to make sure that I would not have an ongoing problem PO. I also had to do my homework and speak with my gastro doc and find another drug I could go on PO because I could not take whole pills for 6 months PO. Plus he required me to get written clearance from my gastro doc before I had surgery. He doesn't let the patient buffalo him when it comes to their prior medical history, he looks into every corner of it to make sure it is safe for you to undergo a major medical procedure like WLS. Hope this helps.
Hi, Brenda!
I had a very successful Lap surgery with Dr. James Madura from Rush! He is experienced, competent, empathetic and very good at being a great surgeon! You must see him, if your insurance allows. I had my surgery in January of 2004 and I have lost over 120#. I look like a different person! He also runs a great support group at Rush and always tries to bring in people who can enhance our progress, as we make our journey. Best wishes in your doctor search, but by all means, you must try to see Dr. Madura!
I was also with New Self Bariatrics at Suburban Surgical Care Specialists, but with Dr. James Kane Jr. -- his father (Dr. Kane, Sr) is now retired.
My experience with not only Dr. Kane but all the doctors at Suburban Surgical has been absolutely fantastic. I've written a glowing review of my surgeon in my profile. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go through them.
Hope you find what you need!
