Aurora, IL?

I was just wondering if there was anyone in Aurora, IL that has had the surgery? I am having mine on September 1st and can't wait! I'm so ready for this!

Alicia, I had my surgery with WISH also. You are going through a great program and surgical facility. You will be on a bariatric floor only at Provena. The staff knows how to take care of gastric patients and is atuned to their needs. Have you been going to the support meetings? There is one coming up on Aug 4th at the clinic in Downers (where you have your appointments)? I was planning on going to it because I missed last months meeting and I may not get to September's because I am having my PS on Aug 6th and may not be back on my feet by then. There is another lady that is on this board named Donna that pops in every once in a while, tho she mostly is on the 50's board. She also had her surgery with WISH & is 4 months PO. Who is your doctor? You do not have that in your profile.

Hi Christine! My doctor is Christopher Salvino. He and everyone at the WISH Center has been awesome! I have not been to the support groups yet. I didn't know if you could go before you paid the support program fee required. My pre-op appointment is August 15 and I planned on paying that then. I would love to start going to them though. I would love to meet some others who will be or already are going through the same thing. My friend has had the surgery, but she lives in Rockford, so too far for us to really socialize much. P.S. August 4 is my birthday!

Hi Alicia, Happy Late Birthday!!! I live in the Plainfield area after living in Aurora for 20 years. I had my surgery at Northwestern with Dr. Nagle. I don't live in Aurora but I work there. I live in Bristol (Between Yorkville and Montgomery). I had my surgery on Aug. 11, 2004 in Chicago with Dr. Vitello at UIC. I am doing great! I have lost 170#s so far. If you need any support feel free to email me! Good Luck Leslie 373/203/150?

Hi Leslie! Congrats on losing all that weight! I cannot wait to get there! I'm not sure where Bristol is, but I know right where Montgomery and Yorkville are. I got married in Yorkville last year. Anyway, congrats on your success and I sure hope I can say the same thing a year from now about myself!!
