Anyone up for a picnic?

I was thinking maybe the 2nd or 3rd weekend in August. I live on Harlem across from a big park with plenty of room for picnic-ing. It's easily accessible from 290 and the Blue Line... Anybody?

I-290 is the Eisenhower expressway.. it's the one that runs you directly into Buckingham Fountain if you take it into the city. The Oak Park exits are Harlem and Austin -- both left exits (Why?? No one really knows.. we're just *different* up here). That Melissa girl lives off of Harlem. The blue line is the El line that runs parallel (in between the eastbound and westbound lanes) on the Eisenhower from Des Plaines Rd into the city. Basically, it's easy. Hope that helps!!

Seeing as how I am also VERY familiar with the area, I would be crazy NOT to be a part of this picnic. I know of a few other local WLS people, so let's try to make this a great big gathering of losers! Let me know how i can help.

Sounds like a great idea! It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me... but I have family in the burbs - maybe I can just make a weekend of it and stay with them! Keep me posted! Katie

Depending on when it is, I may be in. I should be able to drive by then. Let me know the details when you have them. I will be on pureed foods so it will not really be picnicing for me
