Whoa! Approval & Surgery Date Already!!
Well, I started this journey in March of this year, had my classes all in April along with my exams and psych. eval, applied with Medicaid for approval dispite all the negative feedback I had received from people telling me "you don't need that surgery, you aren't heavy enough", even though I am considered "severly obese", have diabetes, high blood pressure & high cholesterol, yadda yadda yadda... Whew! I waited and excructiating 5 weeks for an approval I thought I would not get only to be completely surprised with the letter saying "APPROVED" last week, and now my surgery is set for July 26th!!!!!!!!! Yes, of this year!!!! 5 days left! WOOOOHOOOOO! I am so damn excited I can hardly stand myself. I am sooo ready to lose weight and not feel so tired all the time, not to mention the ups and downs of diabetes, yuk. I know I haven't written alot on here but wanted to say thanks to all of those who have responded to my posts and all of the wonderful, encouraging emails of support. I wish you all the best in your journeys. God made this too easy for me it seems, but I am not complaining and will use it in the best way I possibly can. My only fear is getting sick coming out of surgery as I do not do well with anesthesia, even if I warn them I still manage to have severe vomiting regardless of what they give me to stop it. So, wish me luck! I will talk to you all after the big day, July 26.

Michele,
Congratulations! Getting that approval letter is right up there with getting engaged and having kids. I know what you mean about the nausea. I always tell the Dr. and ask to meet the anesthesia dude to be sure they put anti-nausea drugs in the recovery room. Most times it helps. Good Luck for an uneventful surgery.
