Bob Evans first weigh in!!!

Ramona---- Bob's mom reporting on his progress.... Well after all the trouble the first week after surgery. We went to get the staples out yesterday. They took the first half out and had to wait a bit since Bob almost passed out from them doing that. BUT on the weigh in he is already down 34 lbs in 13 days!!1

We were hootin' and hollerin' (his girlfriend and I) and huggin' him and all the people in the waiting room were looking at us like we were nuts. He is having a little bit of drainage at the bottom of his incision line which they said that was normal it's just clear fluid..so we're keeping an eye on that. He finally gets to go to pureed...He is tolerating food introduction very well so far. I did not do as good as he has done. Of course he is 18 and I was 42 when I had my RNY. He is getting around great.... Wanted to let everyone know how great he did. He is a slow poster

and I am just so proud of his progress this soon. I am trying to get him trained to the best of my ability before he moves into his college in August. That's another thing we need to find a support group in Chicago he will be going to Columbia University downtown Chicago so if anyone knows of a support group in or near that area please e-mail me and let me know. 34 pounds in 13 days? Holy Cow! It's just amazing that our bodies can do this. I've been following the posts and am very glad Bob is coming along nicely!. Keep it up. Sherry
