Just moved here in May

Hey all, I just moved to the Chicago area in May. I am wondering about the surgeons in the area because my surgeon said I need to find one here to follow up with or else I will have to drive all the way to Flint, Michigan to follow up with my surgeon. I don't know about y'all, but that is a bit of a drive for me. I am hoping to find one as close to Addison as possible or even someone affiliated with the Hinsdale Adventist hospital (I am Adventist). Also, as my husband and I plan to eventually add to our family, would anyone know of a good OB/GYN who is familiar with GBP? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Steph

Steph, welcome to the area. I am not too far from you (about 3 miles), I am just north in Itasca. You may want to go on the hospital's web site and see if there are any bariatric surgeons on staff. Otherwise, you may want to try Suburban Surgical Care Specialists (SSCS) group out of Elk Grove Village (EGV) and they also have an office in Arlington Heights. SSCS does their WLS out of Alexian Brothers in EGV. My husband went with them and I would have also but due to cir****tances with my microscopic colitis, Dr Kane would not do it. I would rather have the doctor border on the side of caution than not. I eventually went with The WISH Center (Weight Intervention and Surgical Healthcare, they only do WLS) and they are in Downers Grove. My GYN is Dr Timothy Albion and he is in Schaumburg and does deliveries at Northwest Comm in Arlington Hts, he may be too far for you, but he is good.
