Illinois Medicaid anyone????

Hi. all I was just wondering if anyone out there would like to share if they are using Illlinois Medicaid for their insurance, how long it took for insurance approval?? I am having surgery and have medicaid and am just wondering what the turnaround time for them is?? Thanks anyone *****sponds..

I am on medicaid and when they sent my info in for approval, it took them about 10 days to approve me. Sometimes it only takes a day or 2 to be approved. My surgeon said it can take up to 4-5 weeks for approval, but I dont think i've heard of it taking that long for anyone I know yet. And I've not heard of them denying anyone either. at least not that I'm aware of. Take Care and if you have any other ??'s I'd be glad to try to help you out! ~ Lora

If u dont count the weekend it took them 6 days to do mine.Tamra once you have all the paper work and Doctors referals and stuff,and the Psych Eval in the summit to insurance and it varies..For the most part i havent seen it take them to approve something no more then two weeks. Good luck!

I have the medical card too. Do you just contact a surgeon or do you have to get a referral? Im not sure what to do to get started.

actually when i signed up here my surgeons office contacted me....sent me an email....it's cori centers it's in harvey and they are fast and very nice,,,,i am just waiting for approval so i can get a date and tha gal anita says it should be no problem 1-800-578-CORI (2674).thats one of the nubers i have the other one just can't locate it at the moment wait..........there it is 17089154005 give them a call they are really nice

I have medicaid also, I had my paperwork sent in on the 7th of this month, so I guess I should hear any day now. How do you know if they approve you or not, can you call IDPA to get an update? Or is all information sent to the surgeon? I was told that it could take anywhere from 1-3 months for approval.....THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!!!!!! Thanks LMV

most people get it faster than that...and usually you will get a letter in the mail if your surgeons office doesn't call you first but you may be able to call springfield and get an update i dunno....but let me know if you do christy
