BOB Evans going home?????
Well what a difference from night and day..
.Bob might get to go home today if all of his blood tests and x-rays come back good. He was up all day yesterday had a shower and is practically running around the nurses station. His disposition is so much better especially after the big hurdle of PASSING GAS!!! We all had a party and his stomach bloat has went down tremendously. 
He has had to put on street clothes since he broke out in a horrible rash where the gown rubbed on his skin. WE finally figured out that the soap they washed the gowns in were irritating his sensitive skin. ALAS they did not have hypo allergenic big guy gowns so we decided to put on his regular clothes. They were giving him benedril but we went to wally world and got some topical hydrocortisone cream and it has helped the itching and rash better than the benedril. His IV blew out yesterday and they finally got a nurse to put a new one in for him that didn't gouch and poke him for an hour.
They have been pumping him full of antibiotics...He is sipping fluids well without the IV now of course he can stay awake to drink which is what the problem was before...DO not let them take your IV fluids out until you are awake enough to sip enough water.....I knew it wasn't right and I did voice my opinion about it. Pre-Ops remember to speak up...you have researched this surgery you know what your talking about. Make sure you pick a Dr. and a hospital that has a bariatric ward and the nurses know how to take care of you. Thank God I have been here 24/7 and I have used my expertise to help take care of my son. I should have researched the hospital alot more than what I did...
I have a list of things I will be sending to Dr. Rossi's office to let him know that they need more follow up from his office on problems. Dr. Rossi has been great we DID research him before surgery. We are so excited we might get to go home and if we don't that's fine to I want everything to be up to snuff before hand anyway.
