CORI Centers and Illinois Medicaid Card

I was wondering if anyone out there has had surgery at the CORI Center and used a medicaid card. I just received my packet of all the information, and it mentions that some insurance requires a 12 month DR. supervised diet. Just wondering if anyone who has used this scenario could tell me how it all goes and the length of time from the paper work to a date set for surgery. Thanks for any advice. Anita

Hey Girl! I have a really,really good friend who just went through the Cori Center. She had her surgery on June 13th. They didnt require any supervised diets or anything. I think she was in for a consult,paperwork sent in, psych eval(done same day as consult), and a date all within a month. I "think" she started the process in May and was approved by the end of May. Her name is Kimberly Hanson. She posts on here some. If i talk to her, I'll have her check out your thread.

Thanks Lora any information would be great. I am so ready to do this and just get really upset sometimes, thinking the longer I am in this condition the more days off of my life it is taking. Dr. Scheffer is great she has had me on a script for weght loss for the last 2 months and still I've lost less than 5 pounds, after following the diet and taking the meds.
