I HAVE A DATE!!!!!
First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!! The nerves you have right now will probably get a little worse before they get better.. just keep reminding yourself of all the research you've done and all the positives.. you'll be fine. (and post here if you get nervous and don't know what to do.. there is always someone around who's been there..)
As for what I liked best when I came home.. honestly.. nothing was very appetizing right after surgery.. and your tastes will change so dramatically ... you won't know until you get there. I know that's a horrible thing to say, but that's seriously what happens. If you LOVE s/f popsicles right now, you might still love them.. you might just like them or they might make you completely nauseous.. everybody is different.
Follow your surgeon's food plan.. go with what you can tolerate and listen to your body. It's going to send you VERY CLEAR signals about what it wants or doesn't want.. or can't stand. You'll just have to listen.. and take the time early out to learn your body's signals.. learn when you're full.. or close to full.. get your water in.. get moving as soon as you're able..
As you get out further.. don't be afraid or feel bad about throwing food away. I'm contending with that now.. I feel bad about throwing food out rather than keeping the leftovers for later.. because leftovers now just make me nauseous. I hate leftovers. *ptooie*
HTH!
