Severe iron deficiency post op

Hi Everyone...I am 22 months post op, 100 lbs off, 20-30 more to go (but I'm not sweating it). My problem is that I'm so anemic (iron pills don't work for me) that I have to go for weekly intravenous infusions of iron. It takes 2+ hours, and is expensive (even with my insurance). They just can't seem to get my iron up to a level that will cause my body to store some. Anyone else with this problem? Coleen New York
