5 day liquid diet....Help!!

I am having problems with the 5 day liquid diet. I did fine on Sunday and all day yesterday until the evening. I was so hungry...I don't think it was head hunger either. I started to feel dizzy and weak. Yesterday I drank about 80oz of liquid and had 2 sf jello and a small bowl of broth. Am I wrong about head hunger? I really need some help. I ate about 4 slices of hard salami. Is that going to be a problem come Friday? What did your surgeon tell you about your liquid diet if you could not stick to it completly? I was told if I do not stick to it i will have to reschedule my surgery until I could go 5 days on the liquid diet. Thanks, Shelley

Hey shelly!!! Isopure makes a clear "juice" type protien drink GNC carries it and yes IT HAS TO BE CLEAR!!!!!! if you can't see through it its not clear!!! I would eat as much jello, soup broth, etc that you can drink something every hour and you will be OK!!! I am so excited for you just a few more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Debby

Hi Shelly!! I have to do 14 days of clear liquids before surg. and they told me to get Benoprotein. It is a powder that you mix in your clear liquids. It is suppose to be clear, odorless,and tasteless ( for the most part). I ordered it form walgreens online store. But I bet you can purchase it some where in a store. I also was told I could have advant Edge fruit drinks, not the milk based but the fruit. They have protein in them too. Sometimes you can find them at Hy-vee stores. This would be a clear liquid. Do you have Jewel Osco stores by you? If you have Osco you can get a clear liquid premade protein shake made by EAS Advant. They have a couple of citrus flavors. If your doctor says to be on clear liquids make sure that you stay on them he has a reason that mostly being to clear your bowel and to shrink your liver. Like another poster said go to GNC for the Isopure. They are not cheap but it will help with the lack of protein and will help with the shakes.
