Good & Bad news

Finally, got approved! But, the BAD thing is: My insurance is United Health Care located in Salt Lake City UT; the approval letter came from Lisle, IL which is where I'm employed. Now, I'm afraid my benefits department will or have informed my Manager that I plan on taking off and we all know how employer work --they may find a reason to terminate me prior to my surgery--. I'm stressed and don't know what to do... I wasn't going to tell my employer that I would need to take a leave until early July. Also, I feel my manager has been acting strange towards me.

Is there anyone at work you trust to talk to - especially in HR? If so, you may be able to explore what's going on through that person. By the way, if you lose your job before you have surgery, you can still keep your insurance under COBRA. Relax. Take a deep breath. Assess what you need to do and do it. Make sure that you know your company's policy on sick leave and short term disability and follow them. Good luck, San
