WISHCENTER WHATS UP
They are still operating. Go to your scheduled July appointment, you will find them the best rounded program in the area. They filed Chapter 11 reorganization under the federal bankruptcy law. This is purely administrative from what I have been told. I attended the monthly support group and there was a large group of PO and preop patients there. I also attend a PO support group that is running strong. I will get back with you later on this evening. I am on my way out to the fitness center for an appointment with my personal trainer. I had Dr Rosen & I feel he is one of the best doctors there.

Ok, Dr Rosen has a great sense of humor, is very intelligent and knows just about everything there is to know about weight loss surgery. He was my surgeon and I was glad that I had him. You will have to jump through a few hoops during your 8 week practice diet time before your surgery. As a few examples here is what I had to do. I had to have my GYN physical up to date, not a problem for me, mine was only 4 months prior. I had to show proof of it with copies from my chart at my GYN office. I had to have a recent mammogram, I had one already scheduled for 3 weeks later. I had to have a written ok from my regular doctor and my gastro doctor because I have microscopic colitis. I had to get one of my meds changed because you will not be able to take whole meds for 6 months PO, they have to be liquid or crushed. Dr Rosen also talked to another gastro doctor to make sure that my form of colitis would not cause me problems PO before he would ok me for surgery. I had to have my regular doctor do an echocardiogram on me. You will have to have written proof of all the tests that he wants you to do. You will have to either hand deliver them before your second preop date or you will have to bring them with you to that appointment. Because I had prior surgeries I had to try and get the written surgical report from them, which mine were too long ago so they were not available, he accepted that. If you have your gall bladder you may have to go for an ultrasound of it to make sure that you do not have stones.
That is about all that I can remember. I do remember that he fully went over my questioneer that I filled out, he will quiz you on every aspect of your health and all diets that you have been on. He will really dwell on the bad things that can happen with the surgery because it is very risky for an obese person to undergo surgery, infact it is very very risky. He will want to make sure that you know EVERYTHING about it, not just the good parts.
If you have any questions just email me.
Good luck,
Chris
