Update on me

I am home. Well I came home yesterday (Thurs). I am in quite a bit of pain, particularly on the right side. I cannot stand the smell of food. me mom was cooking a roast and it made me feel so sick. I am just working to get my fluids in. Drinking watered down juices, tried a little chicken broth (yuck, but I made myself eat it), and water. Sugar free popsicles and jello are too sweet for me...who would have ever thought I would say that? My mom is here and is being fantastic. I will be sorry to have her leave on Sunday, she is such a big help with the kids. My DD cried when I went into surgery, she broke my heart, I was balling she was balling...it was a sad sight, but thank goodness the Lord pulled me through. I was very nervous about something happening. I had a fever the day of surgery, the colyte...well it did not go lytely...I had a severe reaction to it. I was so sick all night before the surgrey. But they decided with a fever of 100 to go ahead and do it. I had a fever until Thursday. But my white counts went to normal so they let me go home. I am no longer on glucophage, my blood sugar has been normal since surgery. I am not hungry. That was one thing I was worried about...but I am not in the least bit hungry. I am on my way to being healthy. Kym btw I gained 5 lbs at the hospital...hoping to be a loser soon!

Kym; Your taste buds definitely change after surgery. Maybe you should try beef broth instead. I usually liked chicken until after the surgery but now only like beef broth. Try the blud bunny brand sugar free popsicles. They weren't as sweet tatsting to me. Each brand is different. Make sure you are walking....it really does make a difference with the pain. Gaining weight in the hospital is not unusual but this will dome off quite quickly. Congrats on getting off you glucophage....what a difference you should be feeling with having normal blood sugars.
