First and most important let m thank my great, great angel Gigee for keeping such close tabs on me. Gigee is the very very best. I had surgery on Tuesday and everything started out great. The surgeon told my family things could not have gone better. 1.5 hour in surgery (lap) and 2 hours in the recovery room. I don't remember anything about the the tube down my throught, as far as I know I never saw it. I did so well they let me skip ICU and go straight to a room..........that is when everyhting starrted. My blood pressure fell really fast to 73/44. I must of had hundreds of people in my room from the hospital they were so scared. Next my drain kept filling with blood to the point of it having to be emptied every 20 minutes. Then they tried sitting me on the side of the bed and letting my feet dangle........fortunately I was on the bed and when I fainted I fell onto it. They said my eyes literally rolled to the back of my head and I was out for about a minute or so. The first thing I remember is one of the aids sprinkling water in my face telling me it was raining inside. I had to stay in bed after that and my blood pressure began to rise as they gave me tons of fluid IV, mostly dextrose. My pressure stabilized and I developed a fever......101.9 they were afraid of pneumonia. This too passed. Thursday I had the leek test and passed that easily, but I was still kind of out of it. They gave me 2 units of blood, which took almost all day to administer so no walking. After the blood I was my old self again and they let me walk a little and shower. The doctor said he thought that I might have had a reaction to the Heprin (blood thinner) they gave me right before surgery....so NO blood .thinners after surgery. Yesterday they thought I wouldn't be going home until the weekend, but they said I made such a spectactular recovery they let me go home today and here I am. Again let me thank everybody for all the unbelievable support and love I got. Its so exciting to finally be on the Losers Bench. Thanks, Alan
