know this is pretty late, but I've been awfully busy with homelife and getting things in order before the kidlets got out for the summer. I went to Dr. oliphants for my 1 month post-op on May 13 and was pleased to see that I had lost 39.4 lbs. I will be 2 months out(ALREADY) on June 5th. I did have a scale here, but one of my little darling boys got on it after a bath and got the sensors WET and ruined it. Sooo, I've been without a scale and its driving me INSANE.(i had just bought the darned thing to. so I'm out 60.00). Anywho, I put some more recent pics up on my profile if you all really want to see what I look like. Instead of a picture that was 4 yrs old. Take Care & I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day!! ~ Lora

Congrats on the loss! You are looking good! I finally got my date! June 17th. I can't wait. But so much to do. . . It is neverending with children. What protein would you suggest? I am trying to find something not to gritty and decent taste! IS that possible? Shelley

Shelley.. re: your protein question, try mixing in in a blender.. if it's too gritty, add some frozen fruit (a little will do the trick) or some ice and grind it up real fine.. it'll make it sort of like a milkshake. As for what kind.. well.. stick to whey protein straight out of surgery.. and any whey protein is pretty good.. I have used a bunch of them.. usually vanilla.. and just add things to them and try different smoothie flavors.. I'm a blender-holic! Good luck! Stef Lap RNY 11/12/04 390-> 293-> 175

Hey Lora!! It's about time girlfriend!!! I thought you dropped off the face of the earth! I wish you could come up to Urbana for a support group meeting sometime! I plan on being there this Thursday, the 9th. Dr. O's nurse, Ann, is going to be the speaker. Listen to me! I sound like I never miss a meeting! This one will actually be my 2nd one. It will be one week before my carpal tunnel surgery and then...12 days later...I will be reborn! Shelley, since I am still a pre-op, I don't know what proteins to use either, but I would be VERY cautious about mixing fruit until you ask your doctor. Especially, strawberries (and their seeds). I have also been wondering how to get the gritty taste out of the shakes too. Good luck, Cindy Lou Who
