looking for a dr close to me..........

I am looking for a dr in my area that will take the medical card. i from the central illinios area. I am hoping to be able to get the surgery done. i am tired of trying to lose wieght and failing.

there is the comp clinc in springfield you do have to go there for at least 6 months but they take medical card you have to go there 2 times a month for at least 6 months

Hi Michelle! I live in Ottawa and am pre-op. I went to the CORI center in Harvey IL. for a consult. It is about an hour and a half away on I80 by the IL/IN border. I too have the medical card and they take it no problem. They seem to be the only people that have IDPA number. I would give them a try. Everyone is really nice there and they answered all of my questions. Good Luck!!!!

Thanks! I live in streator so that would be great. I don't kow much about what to except. I just decided i want to have the surgery so i don't know anything about how long i will have to visit the dr. Do they have to get state appoval? how many times do i have to go to the dr.? I don't mind the drive, it will be worth it in the end.Is Clinton closer than Harvey? there is a dr. there. Please let me know what to expect.And thanks for your help.

Hi Michelle! Like I said, I have only gone to a consult and I am now waiting for approval. As far as I know, They don't require you to go to a lot of visits if you don't want to. They will do your pre-op testing at the consult if you are going to do the surgery. Unless you feel the need to see them, I don't think you have to go again until the week of surgery for more testing. My PCC said that it only takes about 2 weeks to get approval from the state. I am not sure which town is closer. Sorry!
