Lack of stamina is almost always present after a major surgery. What you're feeling is normal, but I know it's frustrating. You feel ok but you can't get anything done! You feel like you should be able to will yourself out of the doldrums. I felt a real turnaround 4 weeks out. With some people it's later; some earlier. Pretty soon you will feel a little better each day. I'm sure of it.

Julie, I hear ya! I am EXHAUSTED all day long. I have been going to bed around 8:30 to 9:00 at night...of course I wake up at 5am... But I could literally fall asleep at my desk, in my car... I am 4 weeks out....but not feeling an ounce of energy!!! Urgh! xoxoxojenn

Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I slept 9 hrs last night then I took a 2 hr nap this afternoon. I'm usually a 5 hr a night sleeper. I was beginning to think I was just lazy and bored. But now I know I'm completely normal. Lori

. Hi Julie! Are you walking at all? My nurses had me walking 4 times a day, from day after surgery. After I got home from the hospital, I walked 3 blocks 4 times per day, and gradually built myself up to 1/4 mile, 4x per day. Then kept building. Now I walk 1 mile at lunchtime - and then either another mile at the fitness center, or do an aquacize class. The more you walk, the faster you'll heal, and better you'll feel, I'm told. I know if you have no energy now, it would feel like there's no way you can walk -- but try it anyway - you may be surprised how good it makes you feel!!!! Dayna

Hi Julie The first question I would ask you is are you taking any vitamins? with iron? I found that I was also tired and felt lethargic and then I started taking Feracon which is an Iron supplement....you might go online and visit vitalady.com as she is a WLS person and the smartest and most informational concerning our nutritional needs. She has an Iron product that is excellent and you will see results within days....My doc recommended childrens chewables.........yuck....way too sweet and I am a grown adult..........please check with Michelle at Vitalady.com.....ask her for her advise..........Best wishes........Patti
