30lbs away from Goal, need help!
Hey, my name is Becki and I am 28 yrs old. I had WLS almost 12 mos. ago. I have lost 158lbs and only have 30 more to go. I have an appointment w/ my cosmetic surgeon on Monday, to cement my first surgery date. I am going to get my arms and breasts done. I am STILL only eating small foods in small amounts. I should be eating like a "regular" person only small portions, right?!
I am really worried that I am going to have my "new" body and once I can get "normally again, all of my skin is going to be shot to you-know-where. I am really stressed. I don't eat meat (I cannot tolerate it) and the other foods I eat are like soup, salad and crunchy carbs...which are NOT good for me! What is a girl to do? I get REALLY off of protein shakes, as well. ANY IDEAS??!! I am desperate!
Thanks to anyone who knows anything!
Much love...
Becki
Becki, what do you mean by eating small food in small portions? If this helps, I am to eat no more than 1/2 cup six times a day. I am to concentrate on protein first, veggies a small amount then if I have room some carbs. What about cottage cheese, yogurt, chunks of cheese, hummus, beans as in refried beans, chilli, canned ham, tuna, eggs, chicken, fish to name a few? From what you say you are limiting your menu too much. There are some really good protein drinks out there. Have you tried EAS Advant carb control. You can get them at Sams club by the case. But if you have Osco out there in Normal you can get them by the 4 pak to try. Walmart is supposed to have some good protein products. From what I have read here and on other sites they have some good inexpensive shakes and protein bars. If you have a GNC by you you can go in an see what you can find. The nice thing about GNC is that you can take back the unsued portion if you do not like it. They also have some "kool-ade" types of protein drink that are pretty good. I have only had them a couple of times and cannot remember the name of them. They come in glass bottles, I think about 17 or 20 oz.
And of course you should consult with your surgeon's office because they should have someone there to help you with your PO diet program.
