now that i am approved i need some information
what to take to the hospital?
what should i start doing now to make my transition to the clear liquids easier?
Has anyone had the micropouch done?
a little down the hospital wont let my kids visit me at all! so they are gonna stay home with daddy until mommy gets back home after the 3-4 days. I am gonna take lots of pictures with me of them i have not been away from them since they have been born.
HI~ CONGRATULATIONS AND WISHING YOU A FAST A UNEVENTFUL RECOVERY.....I Took very little, gripper socks, carmex/chap stick, I wore the same clothes home, that I wore there. Anything else I needed, the hospital provided for me.
I stocked up too much and have much left over, clear liquid, I bought s/f jello, chicken & beef broth, bottled water and some fruit 2 0 and propel, s/f popcicles, decaf hot tea bags, I was only on clear liquids for about 10 days, 3 of which were in the hospital, then I had to go buy the FULL liquids......Good luck to you!!!
Love,
Julie

Hi Kimberly.........I live in De Soto, not too far from you.
I don't think you will have to "transition" to liquids.....you won't want anything else! I "feasted" on sugar free jello-about 1/2 of those little cups, sugar free popsicles, Crystal Lite, that kind of thing. You REALLY will not want to eat anything for the first several days but you must stay hydrated.
Take very little to the hospital. Something comfortable to come home in. I took a loose mumu, remember those? Yes, something to walk in, shoes or sturdy slippers. I took sandals. ChapStick or lip gloss, you're lips get really dry. Deodorant if you're self-conscious about that kind of thing. Your favorite cologne. And, yes, pictures of the little ones and your hubby. I work at SIUC and one of my students gave me a little fuzzy bear. I held onto it and thought of all the people who care about me. And remember that when you first wake up after surgery, that's the worst it's gonna hurt. Every minute after that will get better. AND, you are on your way to a wonderful, healthy new life! You go girl!............Judy
