SICK OF FULL LIQUIDS~IS PUREED ANY BETTER?
Going to pureed from liquids was like heaven for me!
I bought a baby food grinder -- it's just a little plastic cup/tube thing with a hand cranked mill.. I could take it anywhere.. make "real" food and just grind it up. It made eating way more "normal" to me. It also got easier to get in my protein requirements each day.
I think if I had used my blender to puree everything I probably would have been grossed out too.. using the baby food grinder kept the hot foods hot and I could see the consistency I wanted.
Just be careful that your pureed foods don't come out too dry -- use water and gravy to keep your meats moist when you grind them up.

I got mine at one of those Kitchen Gourmet stores in the mall.. but I'm sure you could find one at Bed, Bath & Beyond or someplace like that..
Mine was an absolute GODSEND. I loved it! Fast, easy, clean-up was a breeze! It travels well, too (but if you take it on a plane, be sure it's in your luggage, not your carryon!)

Julie,
I know how you feel!!! I couldn't stomach the pureed foods when I blended them...I gaged when I tried to swallow it
. Sooooo I think the baby food grinder would be a much better idea if you can get one.
I ended up just cutting my food in tiny tiny pieces and chewing the heck out of them untill they were mush in my mouth. It was hard to do but it was the only way I could get the food down w/o gaging!!!
Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Try this link. I think you might like this little mill! It even has it's own little tote.

Hi Julie
I never really pureed any of my food.......I ate cottage cheese, yougart, jello, sugar free popsicles, scrambled eggs with cheest, string cheese and lots of soup. And of course protein shakes 2 per day.........You will find that this pureed stage does not last long and you can start to experiment with foods and see what agrees with you....just remember that it may not agree one day and a week later it will......the only thing at 16 months post that I cannot tolerate are rice and pork.......just does not work for me.......Best wishes and Keep up a positive attitude........down 107 pounds and never imagined how different life can be.............Patti
In short, being able to eat pureed foods was heaven. I couldn't believe how good cottage cheese tasted. My experience was very similar to that of most of the people in this thread. I cut up stuff small and chewed the hell out of it. This was especially true of tuna and chicken salads. Pureed tuna is not great but chewing on regular tuna salad was great. To make things simpler I also used baby food: fruit and veggies. The fruit is really delicious. In fact, I still use it because it's easy to measure an 1/8 cup or whatever.
