Have to start my 10 day liquid diet prior to surgery on Friday. Some time ago one of our fello OH members posted a list of tasty shakes and I wish I could remember who it was now but it was some time ago. Anyone have a list of tasty receipes let me know - or where I can find a bunch.

If you're talking about protein shakes.. my surgeon had us use Boost High Protein post-op in the liquid phase.. but those are kind of high in calories. Maybe what you can do is use this opportunity to get some of the different protein samples out there and try them out? Otherwise, GNC makes a pretty darn good protein powder (and I think they may still be on sale.. buy one, get one 1/2 price). I love their banana creme flavor. I put it in light orange juice with some frozen mango or strawberry and it's yummy (again.. not sure what your liquid diet requirements are.. but this is what I use now). Good luck!! Stef

Congratulations Lisa!!!! You are one step closer to being a LOSER! Anyway....I found a LONG list of protein shake recipes in the profile for GAIL SHOEMAKER from McFarland, WI. Lots of them sound yummy. (Thanks Gail!) I plan to try a lot of them when my day finally comes. Good luck to you! Dawn

The first time I had this was after being on clear liquids for a week and it tasted like heaven (so it could be really crap lol but it's worth a try). The very berry shake from the barix binder: 1/2 cup skim milk 5 frozen strawberries 1/4 cup frozen raspberries 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (no sugar) 2 scoops protein powder (vanilla or natural)

Hi Lisa Here are a few of my favorite ideas for protein shakes: 1 scoop Whey protein....any flavor I like Champion Banana Scream and] Cocomocochino 4-5 frozen strawberries or any frozen fruit you choose 1 scoop frozen cool whip 3-4 oz of water Blend..........better than Dairy Queen...... Be careful of the milk as it may have 14+ grams of sugar....it was a surprise to me.........I also have added Carb counter juice to a shake instead of water..........and I love Cocomochino with ice, cool whip, and hazelnut instant coffee crystals and water.......Dream of Starbucks.....Hope this is helpful..........I am 16 months post and down 107 pounds........Good luck on your journey..........Patti
