Calorie Question
Hey folks. Just wondered how everyone is doing and thought I would stop in and say hello.
First I want to rave about the South Beach diet wraps! It's like a lunchable for adults... it's a little kit with two wraps and a little sugar free jello. It's awesome and has 22 grams of protein for the whole package (about two meals for me).
Second I want to say that my weight loss has slowed a lot and I don't like it! Schools out now (I took my last final today) so I'm going to have lots of free time for more exercise! Also I work at a summer camp so I'm bound to get tons of exercise there.
My third question is how many calories I should be eating. Today so far I've had 787 calories and I got in my protein goal. I'm still a little hungry now and I'm wondering how many calories I should have for the day? When I asked my nutritionist she said she would rather not say how many calories i needed as long as I get my protein in, but I need a number!
thanks for the help, and congratulations everyone!
Hi Brooke! Good to see school is out for you! I don't really count calories i jus****ch what i eat i stii havn't had any bread or no potato's. For lunch i get a grilled chicken ceaser salad with baslimic vingerette i eat the chicken 1st then i wait 1 1/2 to 2 hours then i eat the salad. Then i eat meat and salad for dinner and then later i eat some more meat.I eat alot of beef jerkey.I havn't lost much this month 5 lbs i think but i lost about 3 inches around my gut.I lost a total of 18 inches around my gut so far.It fell great! For breakfest i have a atkins yogert smoothie.I would guess my calories between 600 and 800 a day! The key is that i stay under 20 carbs a day with most of them being natural thru fruit.I eat some fruit in the morning for carbs for energy! If your still hungry try some beef jerkey it takes alot of chewing and gives you that sence of being full quick.I get the peppered jerkey it helps make me drink my water! Good Luck with camp this summer! Jeff 459/324/220
Brooke,
I really agree with Jeff on this one. I got the same advice from Barix as you did. Watch what you eat, don't focus on a calorie count. I watch the intake of sugars, fats and then carbs.
Since my surgery, I've been tracking my weight loss every two weeks and I've always lost, never gained. (Knock on wood!) I know I'll be slowing down and stabizing soon, but not without a fight!
If you really 'need' a calorie goal, make one! (800... 900... 1000... pick one!) It will depend on the person what will or won't work, you just have to be accountable to yourself about what types of foods you're willing to eat.
BTW... exercise is a big key. Keep active, balance aerobic and weight training. Build endurance and shrink those inches!
