Dear Julie:
STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE!!! You are doing fine. Your body has just gone through major surgery and has a lot of adjusting to do. I didn't and still don't weigh unless I go to the doctors office...not necessarily my surgeon even if it is my PCP. If you have to weigh just do it once a week and at the same time of the day. The scale can be your worst enemy. Measure yourself and look at how your clothes are fitting. Your doing great. Walk, water, and protein. They are your friends. Have a great day!!!
Andrea
Julie,
Honey, we are so darn alike! I keep weighing myself everyday and the scale isn't moving! LOL....SO I am only going to weigh myself 1x a week!
When I started the program at Central DuPage Hosp in March I weighed 283 (that was also the bad monthly timing thing....), now I weigh 261. My clothes still fit!!! URGH. Co workers say they can tell, I can't only in the chest area
.....and well some clothes are baggier...I would think that 20 pounds you would drop a whole size...sigh...
Are all us newbies this impatient?

Hi Jennifer,
Looks like we had our surg at about the same time. Mine was 4/14. My scale today said 259.5, so it looks like we are losing at about the same rate also. I know I feel like I am also being somewhat impatient. The week b 4 my surg i weight 285, 275 the day of surg. I had to do a 7 day liquid diet.
I guess we can be patient together.
good luck
Kristi
Hi Julie and Ladies
Just a few ideas...........as agreed......stay off of the scale....my recommendation is to go purchase a 12 exposure instant camera....and every month on your surgery anniversary....get on the scale and then take a picture of yourself.....at one year...develop the pictures and you will see the changes..........you have just undergone serious surgery....your body will need plenty of time to release fluids and get adjusted...........you will do just fine.........I am 16 months post and down 107 pounds.......never could imagine that could happen.......My baby sis is 11 months post and down 93 pounds........Life is a journey.........enjoy.......and contact me if I can help..........Patti
